Add an Article Layout
An Article Layout is a content type designed to combine multiple content types into a single compound document. It allows the designer to organize and style the article independently of the content creator.
- In the Article Layout edit form, modify the title, keywords, description, and authors as appropriate.
- Optional: upload an image that will be used in various representations of the article, such as in search results or if it is used as a feature article for the home page.
- Optional: select stylesheet(s) to apply to the document (in addition to the default publishing.css).
- Optional: either add (if you have the appropriate permission) or select one or more types for the article (e.g. research paper, book report, ...).
- Optional: create a formatted description of the article that might be displayed in a summary/abstract view of it.
- Optional: select a source Page item whose text will be parsed and added to the article as separate Page Entries automatically. When the source text is modified, the page entries' indexes into the text will be updated so that the article remains up-to-date.
- Optional: if you have already created a folder containing source items which you intend to add to the Article Layout, simply browse for the source folder in the field "Select a Content Folder to Add its Contents" and new layout objects will be added automatically.
